Jason Schmidt is, Like, Totally Groovy in a Far Out Way
What's up with this push for Eric Gagne or John Smoltz for the Cy Young Award? Not to say that they aren't good pitchers, because they are. Or Smoltz is a good pitcher and Gagne is a good closer. We all know how he sucks in non-save situations. But being a closer is a whole different ballgame from being a starter and completely dominating a team for more than an inning or two. Isn't there a Rolaids Relief award for relievers anyway?
Jason Schmidt at least deserves consideration for a Cy Young award, dammit.
